Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Um, YUM! Now, the title is 'Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies'. The title SHOULD be 'Extra Soft, Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies'. Hmm, I might be on to something... Yes, much more chocolate in these cookies than in normal chocolate chip cookies. But that's not bad, right? RIGHT??? Here's how to make these extra chocolaty cookies!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

What You'll Need:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 (4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding (Is says to use vanilla, but I wanted EXTRA chocolate, so I used a chocolate pudding mix instead!)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon almond extract (Optional. I didn't use it)
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Combine flour and baking soda. In a large bowl beat brown sugar, sugar, butter, shortening, pudding mix, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well until blended. Add eggs and mix well. Beat in the flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonful and bake 10-12 minutes.

The finished product:

They actually turned out much darker, but the picture makes it look lighter.

Since I started this cooking blog, my family is finding random baked goods around the house :) Hmm, maybe I should have started this blog a long time ago :)

Blessings!
